2013 Resolutions

Well, it seems like my first resolution of the year is to get this blog post up…

We are more than twenty days in the new year, and I have already learned two things. One, my cat has this odd fascination with Caesar salad. And two, I will find ever increasing unique and creative ways to procrastinate. Thus, the late blog post. (Well, my procrastination is the reason for the late blog post. Not the thing with the cat. But I’m sure you inferred that.)

Anyway, 2013 should be a good year, if I can keep my head in the game. So, without further ado, this is what I’m hoping to accomplish: (I’m relying on you guys to keep me focused!)

January:

I will start (and continue to work on throughout the year) my epic Avengers arc fanfic. Approximate length: 250,000 to 400,000 words. (It’s a beast guys. I’m not even kidding). FanFicWriMo should move this project along nicely.

February:

Finish editing part one of Cloudy with a Chance of Satan. Write part two. Distribute part one to writing partners for beta.

March:

Start (re)studying Japanese with friend, in preparation for JLPT in December.

April:

BEST FRIEND’S BABY IS DUE APRIL 18. (more than likely will take a week off to be with her).

Edit part two of Cloudy. Hopefully combine and mesh the two parts together so they actually make sense. YAY. I have a book now! Start work on Supervillains series. Distribute book to writing partners for beta at end of the month.

May:

IRON MAN 3. Blocking out the ENTIRE MONTH for Tony Stark feels. I’m sure I’ll be full of them.

June:

Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, will have received book back by at least 50% of beta readers. EDIT THAT BOOK LIKE THE MO-FO IT IS. Also, possibly make an appearance at Camp NaNo? (AND IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!)

July:

FIRST DRAFT OF SUPERVILLAINS SERIES. Seriously. This needs to happen.

August:

It will be hot, and I will be miserable. Taking the month off to not die.

September:

With cooler weather approaching, I will be more amenable to deadlines. Not only do I want the second go-through of my book to be done, I want it to be approaching agent-readiness. Also, Hallowe’en approaches, and I need a muthafuggin’ costume.

October:

HALLOWE’EN BITCHES. Also, look for an agent. And maybe a rocking party to attend.

November:

NANOWRIMO. (Also, Thor 2).

December:

CHRISTMAS. JLPT. END OF THE YEAR CELEBRATIONS/REMORSE. Also, try to keep from family from murdering me. And my book needs to be done as it can be at this point.

Also, as most years, there are things I want to keep working on that don’t necessarily have monthly deadlines. This year, I really want to work on keeping up with my exercise–namely, two to three times a week for 30 minutes minimum. So far.. Well, I haven’t quite kept it to two times a week every week. More weeks have been good than not, so that makes me hopeful.

Eating right. That’s a given. More veggies for me! Less sugar! Also, more farmer’s markets. I really want to start shopping at my local farmer’s market this spring instead of going to the grocery store.

Oh! And as far as this blog is concerned, I have plans for it as well. Once a month I’d like to do a “Things I Like” post, and give reviews from anything to movies to books to video games that has caught my attention that month. I already have a post scheduled for this Wednesday with this month’s edition, so stay tuned! And every Friday, I am going to start posting my fanfic recommendations. I read a LOT of fanfics. Some of them are good. Some of them are crap. And some of them are so wonderfully crafted the writing alone brings tears to my eyes. And each and every one ought to be showcased–which I will do.

So. Big plans. I’m looking forward to it.

Catch you later, readers!
