WriteMotivation – Week 1

We’re already a week into February, and… I’ve done very little. :/ Sure, I’ve been busy, but no busier than normal. I don’t really have any excuses.

But here’s what I got done, such as it is.

1) Write the first draft of the Anthology short story. (Approx. 3k-8k words). – I’ve gotten nothing done on this at all. 😦 I really need to get this done this weekend, early next week at the latest.

2) Finish plotting Cloudy with a Chance of Satan. – Well, I’ve started thinking about what I need to do to finish Cloudy, so that counts, right? 😛

3) Write 10k-15k on Cloudy. – No work on Cloudy yet. But I really need to get the first draft of this short story done first, so I’m not so worried about it.

4) Blog 3x a week. – Er… I only blogged twice last week. 😦 But I do have enough stuff that I can blog four times next week? So that kind of evens it out, right?

Bonus Goal: Clean House. Well, I’ve actually got some work done on this. I still need to do a deep clean of my kitchen, but my house is looking a lot better than it was. So that’s progress.

Yeah, pretty pathetic. But hopefully I’ll get a lot of stuff done next week. 😀

    1. When I say my kitchen needs a deep clean, it’s only because it is supremely gross. I’m talking like… a good six months or more since I scrubbed the floor. Uuugh. (Actually, come to think of it, it was this summer. SO LONGER THAN SIX MONTHS.)

  1. A slow start doesn’t mean you won’t have great progress by the end of the month. I’ve learned to use WM as a means to keep your goals in front of you and to keep reminding yourself of them… but don’t beat yourself up if you can’t meet them on the first scheduled try!

    1. Problem is, right now, is that now that I’ve committed to getting them finished, I want to be doing absolutely EVERYTHING BUT WORKING ON THESE GOALS. I have about seven other stories/projects I want to work on except Cloudy and the anthology story. Uuuugh. Why, muse, why?

  2. we still have 3 more weeks! So you still have time! ❤
I'm in the same boat. I was sick and then went away this weekend. No progress on my goals really. Here's hoping we both get on with it! 😀

    1. We can do it! (hopefully, maybe, with any luck *mumbles*) I’m usually a slow starter anyway. It takes that panic half-way through to realize that I can’t just frivolously squander my time and still expect to get things done to get me really motivated to finish. I haven’t quite decided if this is a flaw that I need to change, or just one I have to accept and go with it. *shrugs*
