WriteMotivation – Week 2

Man, I am late getting this up. :/ The weekend was fun, but not very conducive to work. Anyway, this last week has gone a little bit better than the last–and good thing, too! We’re now halfway through the month. Also, as you can see, I’ve added little stretch goals for myself, because I’m finding that I want to/need to work on some other things as well. Let’s see if I can get everything done, shall we?

1) Write the first draft of the Anthology short story. (Approx. 3k-8k words.) –Β I plotted this, but no real words yet. Working on it. πŸ™‚

Stretch Goal: Finish the BHReboot Outtake: Halloween and email to beta. (Approx. 3k-5k words). Β – I’ve got this started, but not finished. It’s going really well, though, so I’m not worried. I just need to finish other things first. Only about 1500 more words to go.

2) Finish plotting Cloudy with a Chance of Satan. – I did manage to plot this! Not down to the nitty gritty details, but enough that I can start writing it. πŸ˜€ Yay! Progress!

3) Write 10k-15k on Cloudy. –Β Nothing yet. I’ve just plotted it is all. πŸ™‚

Stretch Goal: Write 5k on BHReboot (either Part Two or another outtake, I’m not that picky). – Well, I’ve got Part Two plotted out. But I haven’t made more progress on it–yet!

4) Blog 3x a week. –Β Well, today’s post was supposed to go up this past Saturday. But I managed to blog three times last week without it, so… I think this post counts for the first one for this third week, yes? I’m going to go with yes. πŸ˜€

How are you guys doing?

    1. Thank you, lady! πŸ˜€ I just have to sit down and finish the actually writing portion of all my projects. (She says as she gets YET ANOTHER IDEA for another story–this one involving an entire conlang… uuuuugh.)

  1. You can do it! I think it’s good to reevaluate once in a while and change things. The purpose of goals is to make us strive for things, and you’re doing amazing! Keep up the good work!

  2. Yes, plotting is huge!! I tend to get distracted by new ideas too, and you just have to write it down for the future and use it as motivation to get your current projects done. Good luck!!
